Tottenham Hotspur faces a decision regarding the futures of Troy Parrott and Oliver Skipp, with interest swirling around the two players. Despite their peripheral roles under manager Ange Postecoglou, Spurs could opt to block their potential moves away from the club.
According to a report by GiveMeSport, Spurs are considering retaining Parrott and Skipp despite their limited involvement in the team’s plans. Skipp, who has amassed over 100 appearances for Tottenham since his promotion to the first team in 2018, has found regular playing time elusive this season, featuring in only 20 matches and accumulating fewer than 800 minutes on the pitch.
The 23-year-old midfielder is reportedly discontent with his restricted opportunities and is open to seeking playing time elsewhere. Similarly, Parrott, currently on loan at Dutch club Excelsior, has attracted attention with his impressive performances, tallying 12 goal contributions in 25 appearances this season.
Despite their potential departures not significantly impacting Postecoglou’s plans, Spurs may hesitate to sanction their moves. Both Parrott and Skipp qualify as homegrown players, and losing them could jeopardize Tottenham’s compliance with the Premier League’s homegrown quota, which mandates a minimum of eight such players in the squad.
