Tottenham’s Pedro Porro remains vexed by a particular incident from December, shedding light on a moment that still irks the £39m Spaniard.

In a recent interview with Telemundo in Argentina, Porro revisited Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat against West Ham in December, where a peculiar sequence of events led to frustration for the Spurs camp.

The incident in question occurred when Spurs were leading 1-0 courtesy of a Cristian Romero header. However, a stroke of misfortune saw a shot from West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus ricochet off Romero and then Ben Davies, falling perfectly for Jarrod Bowen to equalize.

Porro expressed his annoyance, highlighting the element of bad luck involved in the sequence. He recalled, “The West Ham game at home, they shot from outside the box, it bounced to Cuti (Romero), bounced again and stayed for the striker to push it in.”

This moment, characterized by its freakish nature, continues to linger in Porro’s mind, reflecting the lingering frustration among the Tottenham squad.

Despite the setback, Tottenham remains in contention for a UEFA Champions League qualification spot, albeit facing an uphill battle against Aston Villa. With two games in hand, Spurs have the opportunity to close the seven-point gap and mount a late surge for the coveted fourth spot.

As Tottenham navigates the final stretch of the season, Porro’s lingering frustration serves as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of football and the resilience required to overcome such setbacks.
