Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly open to allowing central defender Joe Rodon to join Leeds United this summer, as reported by Football Insider.
The Welsh international, who joined Tottenham at the beginning of the Ange Postecoglou era, was part of the pre-season tour to Asia-Pacific but quickly found himself surplus to requirements under the new manager. Rodon made the move to Leeds in early August and has since become a key figure in their defense as they aim for a swift return to the Premier League following relegation last season.Having spent the previous season on loan at Rennes in France, where he made 16 appearances, Rodon is now sought after by Leeds for a permanent transfer. Leeds, currently second in the Championship behind Leicester City, will need to offer between £10-£15 million to secure the services of the former Swansea City player should they achieve promotion.Rodon is reportedly enjoying his time at Elland Road, where there is a significant Welsh presence among the players, and is eager to secure a permanent move away from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. With Rodon’s departure seeming likely this summer, especially given his loan move ahead of fellow Tottenham defenders Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier, who both featured under Postecoglou before their exits, the club appears to be reshaping its defensive options. Postecoglou has brought in defenders such as Micky van de Ven and Radu Dragusin, known for their pace and ball-playing abilities, while Rodon is considered more of a traditional center-half.For the latest updates on Tottenham news and opinions, follow SpursWeb’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.
