Manager Expresses Interest in Bringing Tottenham’s Ivan Perisic to Hajduk Split

Hajduk Split’s manager, Mislav Karoglan, has openly revealed his desire to secure the services of Tottenham’s wide-man, Ivan Perisic, for his club.

Perisic has been sidelined since suffering an ACL injury in September, and his return to action is not anticipated in the near future. As his contract with Tottenham expires next summer, reports, including from Football Insider, suggest that the 34-year-old may have already played his final game for Spurs and is contemplating a return to his native Croatia, particularly to his boyhood club, Hadjuk Split, where he began his career.

Recent reports from Croatia have gone so far as to suggest that it’s ‘inevitable’ for the experienced winger to rejoin Hadjuk. Manager Mislav Karoglan, while acknowledging uncertainty about Perisic’s recovery, expressed his eagerness to have the player join his squad.

Speaking to Dalmatinski Portal, Karoglan stated, “I don’t know how his recovery is going after the injury, and the only thing I can say from my side is that I would like to have him in the dressing room whenever possible.”

Given that Perisic is unlikely to return before March at the earliest, it seems improbable for Hajduk to pay a transfer fee for him in January. The most plausible scenario is that the winger may make a move to his hometown club as a free agent next summer unless an agreement is reached to terminate his contract with Spurs next month.
